1. All curves in the tunnel are gradual, and on those curves the outside stringer was raised higher than the inner stringer to accommodate trains traveling at speeds of more than 40 miles per hour (64 km/h).

터널 내의 곡선은 모두 완만하였으며 곡선 구간에서 바깥에 놓인 목재는 안쪽에 놓인 목재보다 더 높이 튀어나왔는데, 이는 열차가 64 km/h 이상의 속도로 달릴 수 있게 하기 위함이었다.
